 | | What is the job of the Security Service? |  | | Organising an event or a protest is a big task whether you're organising a large festival, event or a protest security and crime prevention is vital to the overall success. Our security staff assist with the event or protest for an enjoyable and safe experience for all. One of the jobs we do is to assist the members of the investigations unit when our help is needed but only if we are not providing security at another event or protest. Four Seasons Security Service can help with any of the following: Event manual, Crowd management, Traffic management, World Naked Bike Ride's as well as other events and protests. |
| | Event Manual. | | | It is always a good idea to have an event manual as this can help in a lot of different ways with the planning of an event or protest. From the point of view of the Four Seasons Security Service it can be used to advise the local authorities and the police on how your event or protest will handle certain situations that may arise on the day. Remember that an event manual is not the same as an event or protest management plan. An event or protest management plan deals with the management of an event or protest while an event manual deals with the security aspects & event manuals are not generally needed for protests but could be for some other events. |
| | Crowd Management. | | | Some events and protests that are arranged by the Four Seasons need to have on-hand crowd management, which is a service that we provide to our own events & protests if our assistance is required. From a legal aspect, we can look out for any hotspots where there may be people that are out to cause trouble and deal with it in a quick and effective way before it escalates. We can also have the police remove people if we ask for help. In the event of one or more of our supporters being attacked or injured by a member of the public, we can take witness statements to assist with a prosecution in a court of law. |
| | Traffic Management. | | | When it comes to traffic management this is a job best left to the police if it's on the public highway. However, when traffic management is needed at one of our events for parking and security purposes we take control. We like to work with the authorities at all times and do on occasion need more help in such cases we will always ask for help from the police. But there may be fees payable to the police if we ask for them to assist us. We have over the years developed our skills down to an art form all of its own and we can handle vehicle security checks on mass very quickly with little or no risk to the public. |
| | World Naked Bike Ride's. | | | Over the years there have been some incidents that have occurred where members of the general public have been threatening the riders while on the World Naked Bike Rides. Some of these have been prosecuted in a court of law and the people involved now have criminal records for their behavior. It is these incidents that make the security of the rides a very important issue. When a hot spot for possible trouble is identified we hide in plain sight in these areas and watch for trouble that may be about to start and try to stop it from escalating into an offense that could result in a person being arrested and prosecuted. |
| | Other events and protests. | | | The Four Seasons group and committee have their own events, and we provide security for them at their events if our services are needed. Each event is unique with its own needs and we can adapt our services for each event. In some situations, we can even call on the services of other groups to assist us. We will always work very closely with the police and from time to time require their presence at some events. At the end of the day, we want each event to be a success with no security issues and we are dedicated to that end. All of our security team are volunteers and give their time freely.
